Art Mentorship Opportunity for Indigenous Youth!

Inter-Museum Print Exchange: Todmorden Mills

inPrint and First Story Toronto are currently seeking Indigenous youth aged 14 to 17 to participate in the second edition of the Inter-Museum Print Exchange project happening at Todmorden Mills.  Workshops focus on the Indigenous history of the area around Todmorden Mills, a Toronto heritage site starting with a tour lead by members of First Story. Wyandot multi-media artist Catherine Tammaro will be on hand as an artist mentor for the following workshops with members of inPrint as we make print-based artwork inspired by the tour. Registration for the workshops is free and participants must be able to attend most of the days.

Saturday August 12th, 10:30am to 2:30pm (Tour portion of project, rain date: Sunday, August 13th)
Sunday August 20th, 10:30am to 2:30pm
Sunday, August 27th, 10:30am to 2:30pm
Saturday, September 9th, 10:30am to 2:30pm

A celebration will be conducted on Sunday, September 24th, 2017 for the opening of the exhibit featuring prints produced in these workshops.

Up to 10 spots are available in the Todmorden Mills edition of this project. Participants will receive:

* sketchbook and pencil set
* food and ttc fare provided throughout workshop series
* a certificate of mentorship from First Story, with applicable citation for your resume/CV
*$100 honorarium upon completion of the workshops

Membership Opportunities

Interested in becoming a member of the inPrint Collective? inPrint is a small, tight-knit group of artists who take on new members on a case by case basis.

Requirements for membership include:

*  significant part of your artist practice is based in printmaking
*  willingness to teach workshops and participate in demonstrations, exhibitions, markets and other inPrint programming
*  willingness (and time!) to participate in the organization of events and programming
*  gets along well in a communal setting
*  is Toronto or GTA-based
*  has a positive and passionate attitude about the arts and working with various communities and partners

Seeking professionals to join our Board of Directors

The inPrint Collective is an incorporated non-profit artist collective started in 2008. Currently comprised of 5 female printmakers our mandate is to create art, work together to support each other’s practice, exhibit contemporary printmaking and bring print based events and programs to communities around the GTA. Upcoming strategic goals include establishing sources of sustainable funding and obtaining an external studio space.

inPrint Collective Board Members are led to look at their responsibility through three lenses: Strategic (setting priorities and monitoring performance), Generative (big picture questions and big picture thinking) and Fiduciary (stewardship of assets and accountability). This approach supports inPrint to continue successfully create and exhibit art, collaborate and deliver arts events/programs and promote art and printmaking in our community.


Strategic thinking and planning experience

Knowledge of non-profit operations requirements and regulations

Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively

Interest in promoting art and creativity across the GTA

Fundraising experience an asset


Attend all board meetings, with teleconferencing as a option

Supports special events and fundraising efforts

Looking for experience for your c.v? If you have some skills you’d like to share in graphic or web design or would like to help out at events and functions, The inPrint Collective would be happy to have you on board. In exchange for your time, we are happy to provide a reference and letter at your request.  Honourariums can sometimes be offered depending on available funding.
